At the recent Referendum, 301 local residents voted and of those, 76% voted YES, in favour of the Ercall Magna Neighbourhood Plan.  This means that Telford & Wrekin Council will include the policies (as determined through consultation with the residents) alongside the TW Local Plan when considering applications in any part of the Parish.

Following the most recent consultation process with local residents, businesses and agencies, the Ercall Magna Neighbourhood Development Plan is ready to move one step closer to the Referendum.

The Current Document (known as Regulation 15) is about to be published in May 2021 and will move forward to an Independent Inspection.

Ercall Magna Parish Council is pleased to inform the community that the Ercall Magna Neighbourhood Development Plan has moved a step closer with the revised document being presented to Telford & Wrekin Council, with the Statutory Documents as required by the Regulation 15 of the Neighbourhood Planning Act.

The next stage is that the NDP will be independently examined.  An examiner will be employed to ensure that the Plan conforms to the Regulations, but more importantly that it has been created in consultation with the Community and that it appropriately represents their views. 

In October 2020, Ercall Magna Parish Council adopted its Regulation 14 version of the Ercall Magna Neighbourhood Development Plan.  This has been 'work in progress' since 2011 and has included many aspects of consultation with the communities in the Parish, which include Roden, High Ercall, Walton, Poynton, Ellerdine and Rowton, plus many developments in between.

The Parish Council is grateful to the local residents, who have helped to shape this document and to ensure that it really does reflect the views of those most affected - yes, those who live, work and visit our Parish.

On 4th November 2020, Ercall Magna Parish Council submitted the Regulation 14 Document to Telford & Wrekin Council for consideration.  This triggers further consultation with our stakeholders.  However, if you would like to comment on the document, as an interested party or local resident, your views will be very welcome.

Neighbourhood Planning

Overview

In February 2011 the Government was seeking to support a small number of vanguard authorities to work with the Communities and Local Government (CLG) to test the preparation of a Neighbourhood Development Plan under the current legal and policy framework ahead of the new provisions for Neighbourhood Planning outlined in the Localism Bill.

Ercall Magna Parish Council agreed to work with Telford & Wrekin Council and submit a bid to develop a Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish of Ercall Magna.

At the end of May 2011 CLG confirmed that our application had been successful.

To get involved - if we are to succeed we will need the engagement from all sections of the full community.
