17th March 2009 - Annual Grants
Subject to annual review, Ercall Magna Parish Council provides funding for groups/ organisations to apply for each year. The purpose of application must comply with prevailing local government legislation or provide direct benefit to the parish or some of its inhabitants. Priority is given to applications from organisations based in and/or delivering a service to the Ercall Magna community. This year five grants of £100 each were awarded to the following;
Crucial Crew, No Panic, Samaritans, Severn Hospice and Wellington Cottage Hospital.
5th March 2009 - Bulb Planting
The Parish Council working in partnership with the Borough of Telford & Wrekin Council last autumn planted over 1000 crocus bulbs in the grassed area at the junction to Church Road by the Gospel Oak. These are now out as the photo opposite shows.
4th March 2009 (Public Notice Date) - Casual Vacancy
Notice is hereby given that a casual vacancy is deemed to have occured in the office of Councillor for the Ercall Magna Ward of the Parish of Ercall Magna following the death of Councillor Barry Malone.
Rule 8(1) of The Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) (Amendment) Rules, 1986, provides that on a casual vacancy occurring in the office of councillor of a parish, an election to fill the vacancy shall be held if, within fourteen days (computed as stated below) after public notice of the vacancy has been given in accordance with Section 87(2) of the Local Government Act, 1972, notice in writing of a request for such an election has been given to the proper officer of the council of the borough within which the parish is situate by TEN electors for the electoral area. The period ends on 24th March 2009.
The Proper Officer is the Returning Officer, Telford and Wrekin Council, Civic Offices, Telford, TF3 4LD.
