Members of the public are welcome to attend any meetings of the Parish Council or its Committees, although there are occasions when meetings must go into private session when dealing with matters of a confidential nature.
A 15-minute public question time is scheduled at the start of every meeting when residents of the parish can put questions directly to members.
Where possible, planning applications are dealt with at full parish meetings but in between meetings depending on whether there are planning applications that require a response to the Borough of Telford & Wrekin Council that are required before the date of the next scheduled meeting of the full parish council, then the Planning Committee under delegated powers deals with them. Agendas for meetings are usually available on this web site 2-3 days prior to each meeting.
The Annual Parish Meeting (i) is a meeting of the parish electorate Local Government Act 1972, Section 12, para 14. It is not a parish council meeting although the parish council chairman will call the meeting and, if present, will chair the event. There is no prescribed format for this meeting and its recommendations are not binding on the council.
The Annual Council (ii) is a meeting of the parish council and must be held in May, Local Government Act 1972, Section 12, para 7, except in an election year when it is held between the fourth and the eighteenth day after the election (inclusive). The first task of this meeting is the election of a chairman.
