Planning

The parish council is not a planning authority and as such does not make final decisions on planning applications; this is the responsibility of Telford & Wrekin Council. However, the parish council is a statutory consultee and as such receives all planning applications relating to the parish for comment. Each week the parish receives a copy of the 'weekly list' which details all applications received in the Telford & Wrekin Council area and also via email of any applications relating to Ercall Magna Parish Council. Where possible, planning applications are dealt with at full parish meetings but in between meetings they are dealt with by the Planning Committee under delegated powers.

All Planning applications can be found on the telford.gov.uk/planning website.  You can search by an address to gain information relating to current applications as well as those that have recently been determined.

TELFORD & WREKIN DRAFT LOCAL PLAN

You may have heard or seen in the local press that Telford & Wrekin Council has produced a Draft Local Plan, for the period up to 2040.  It is vitally important that local people have their say on the proposals included.

Ercall Magna Parish Council has submitted a detailed response.

You will be aware of the Ercall Magna Neighbourhood Plan - this is based on local views and opinions, regarding proposed development and the retention of green spaces.  However, the Local Plan sets out the Telford & Wrekin view on where development should be.  It also looks at highways, drainage, leisure and other matters which are important when considering where any new housing may be sited.

Officers are analysing the responses and a further draft will be available for consultation in or around May of this year.

Thank you.

On 11th March 2024, the Parish Council held a Planning Committee Meeting in Ellerdine Village Hall to consider the current planning applications.  Please find attached here the Minutes.
